8 Things To Absolutely Do This Year!


 1. Individuality :

This year talk about yourself, rather talk to yourself. Don’t underestimate the “ME- Time”. Go out on dates with yourself, look around and just breathe.

This little habit will help you love yourself, which is so under-rated and under-practiced.

2. Learn a NEW skill:

Save little bucks for yourself with which you can do almost anything- singing classes, swimming lessons, yoga, or marketing. Anything.

It obviously adds another star to your CV but, other than that it also makes you feel good about yourself.

3. Set small goals:

They say “To have big, huge dreams”, the thing that they forgot to add was that having big dreams can scare you and leave you unmotivated. This can be solved by breaking it down into small aims.

For eg. If your dream is to become the next pop sensation and you are not sure whether it can be converted into a full-fledged career then, start slow; upload your videos on youtube, or sing in college fests, etc. This will lead to bigger changes.

4. Nothing happens in a day:

I’ll be honest everybody no, mostly everyone wants quick results. We just love everything fast and quick- fast foods, fast ride, weight reduction pills …….. in short, the Shortcuts.

But these quick fixes don’t last long unless it is a giant jumbo with extra cheese, burger. If you want a toned body- it takes time and effort (a little every day is better than nothing at all). Doing 30 squats a day is a good start but thinking it will make you Arnold is toxic.

5. Do Something Good:

Yea, right this everybody knows, but how many actually practice it.

I visited an orphanage on my last birthday, although I couldn’t go there again; I can’t get the feeling out. The smiles, the gratitude, a new perspective it was a huge learning experience. I’ll do it again this year, donate a bit and play a bit.

6. Stay connected:

Social media connection is not what I mean here, having 2000 friends on Facebook doesn’t make you connected.

Visiting some old places that were a part of your life, meeting old friends or teachers even an old classroom can rekindle your inner fire. It can actually de-clutter things.

7. Eat brightly:

Yes, bright is the word. Try eating vegetables and fruits of every color possible- blue, green, orange, purple, everything. More the diversity better it is.

Think of it as ingesting rainbow. You’ll literary go colorful.

8. Keep a journal:

This has been said and heard many times but again a reminder is required.

Penning down your emotions, turmoil, joy, confusion won’t necessarily lead to a solution but will clarify things and get them in order. It will help in clearing the mess, making Head-space.

These little small things, matter! Practicing them matters more.
Lead this year with intentions rather than resolutions, it will go way longer than just the month of January.
